History of Brad's Bar-B-Que
Brad's Bar-B-Que was established in Central City Alabama in 1988 by James and Dorothy J (Mama) Bradford. The restaurant relocated to its current location in Oxford AL in 1997, where it has been operating as a favorite local BBQ restaurant for the last 29 years. The Bradford's are very thankful for the last 38 years for all the customers who supported their restaurant and the staff who took care of the customers.
For more than 37 years, the Bradford family poured their hearts into this restaurant, building more than a business — they built a tradition. Generations of families, friends, and travelers have walked through those doors for the same great barbecue and that familiar Southern hospitality
In Jan 2026, former judge Joel Laird purchased the restaurant. Both the Bradford family and the new owners have worked closely since Jan to transition the business fully to Joe Laird, while keeping the traditional recipes and staff intact. The Laird family now fully owns and operates Brad's Bar-B-Que and are grateful to the Bradford's for establishing a loyal customer base who appreciate great Southern BBQ and down home Southern hospitality.
